Abstract

It should be said that a font acts not only as a tool for linear transmission of information, not just a set of letters, but also as a means of creating visual esthetics, artistic visualization and emotional perception of the text. A font can be an independent work of art, especially in the form of headings or initial letters, title pages of books, posters, advertisements, etc., where it acts as part of a unique artistic composition. To see this, let's briefly consider the work in this area of two great artists of the Renaissance: Albrecht Dürer and Hans Holbein the Younger.
