The article is devoted to the analysis of the contribution of famous masters of Samchikiv painting — a unique type of Ukrainian folk decorative art originating from the village of Samchiki, Starokostyantynivsky District, Khmelnytskyi Oblast. The history of the birth and decline of the tradition at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries, the process of its revival in the 1960s, and the role of key artists in the preservation and popularization of samchikivka are considered. Special attention is paid to the activities of Oleksandr Pazhimskyi, Viktor Rakovskyi, Mykhailo Yuzvuk, Serhii Kasyanov and their followers. It has been proven that thanks to the efforts of these masters, the Samchykiv painting was transformed from a local wall-painting tradition into an independent easel decorative painting, which today is actively developing and popularized in Ukraine and abroad.References
