The journal covers current problems of history of Ukraine, World history, historical local history, ethnology, historiography, source studies, theories and methodologies of history, the most modern monographic works in the field of historical sciences are reviewed.

The publication is designed for scientists, ethnographers, teachers, postgraduates, students, everyone who seek to get a solid knowledge of the theoretical and applied nature of history.

By the decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine this journal is included in the list of scientific professional editions (category B) in which the results of dissertations on historical sciences can be published. (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No.409 dated 17/03/2020).

Scientific Papers of the Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsyiubynskyi State Pedagogical University. Series History  is a quarterly peer-reviewed open access academic journal.

Field and Perspective: The journal highlights current issues of the history of Ukraine, world history, historical local lore, ethnology, historiography, source studies, theory and methodology of history, reviews of modern monographic works in the field of historical sciences.

The publication is intended for scientific workers, local historians, teachers, postgraduates, students, everyone who seeks to acquire a solid theoretical and applied knowledge of history. 

By the resolution of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine the collection is included in the List of scientific professional publications (category A), in which the results of dissertations on historical sciences can be published. (Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine №1346 of October 10, 2025)

The journal supports the policy of open access to published content, supporting principles of free dissemination of scientific information and global exchange of knowledges for general social progress.

All issues of the journal are stored in the database "Scientific periodicals of Ukraine" of Vernadskyi National Library of Ukraine.
