Abstract

Topicality. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing prevalence of sedentary lifestyles among middle-aged women, which is one of the leading factors contributing to the development of non-communicable diseases, a decline in the body’s functional reserves, and a deterioration in quality of life. According to the World Health Organization, approximately one-third of the world’s adult population does not achieve the recommended level of physical activity, with insufficient physical activity being more common among women than among men.

In this context, the development and scientific substantiation of effective strength fitness programs adapted to the morphofunctional characteristics of middle-aged women are of particular importance. The implementation of such programs contributes not only to improving physical condition and preventing age-related involutional changes but also to developing sustainable motivation for regular physical activity, which is a prerequisite for maintaining health, functional independence, and a high quality of life. The purpose of the study. To analyze the effects of strength-oriented fitness programs on the physical condition of middle-aged women. Material and methods of the research. The study was based on the findings of domestic and international scientific publications devoted to the application of strength fitness as a means of optimizing the physical condition of middle-aged women. The analysis included studies investigating various strength training programs, their effects on physical condition, body composition, physical fitness, functional capacity, and women’s motivation for regular physical activity. The research methods included analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, and generalization of scientific literature. Results of the research. A comparative analysis of domestic and international studies demonstrated that strength fitness is an effective means of optimizing the physical condition of middle-aged women. The synthesis of current scientific evidence confirmed the positive effects of various strength training models on muscular strength, physical fitness, body composition, functional status, and the psycho-emotional well-being of women. The findings indicate that the highest effectiveness of health-enhancing programs can be achieved through the individualization of the training process, appropriate load prescription, and the application of modern methodological approaches to designing strength fitness programs. At the same time, the analysis revealed a limited number of studies devoted to the development of comprehensive differentiated strength fitness programs for middle-aged women that take into account their morphofunctional characteristics and exercise motivation. Conclusions. The analysis revealed that, despite the considerable number of studies available, the issues of comprehensive optimization of the physical condition of middle-aged women through strength fitness, the development of differentiated training programs, and the determination of optimal strength training parameters remain insufficiently investigated. The findings support the need for further improvement of strength fitness programs focused on the individualization of the training process, which will enhance the effectiveness of health-oriented exercise, improve the physical condition of middle-aged women, and promote sustainable motivation for regular physical activity.
