Formation of patriotic values in future primary school teachers using folk song creativity

The article reveals the relevance of the problem of forming patriotic values in future primary school teachers by means of folk song creativity. The purpose of the scientific work is to theoretically and methodologically substantiate the features of the formation of patriotic values in future teachers by means of Ukrainian folk song. In particular, the essence of the concept of «patriotic values» is clarified, their main components are defined. The proper interpretation of the term «forming patriotic values in future primary school teachers by means of folk song creativity» is given. Ukrainian folk song folklore is defined as a powerful didactic material for forming interest in musical art, educating patriotism. The need to use works of song and ritual folklore in the professional training of future primary school teachers is emphasized. The experience of forming patriotic values in students of the specialty «Primary Education» of the Valentina Voloshyna Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education of Vinnytsia Mykhailo Kotsiubynskyi State Pedagogical University is presented. The stages of studying folk songs are determined. The pedagogical conditions necessary for forming the readiness of a future teacher to educate patriotic values in primary school students are proposed. A list of academic disciplines is presented that have significant potential for forming patriotism in future primary school teachers. The need to use works that reflect the mentality of the Ukrainian nation is emphasized. Attention is focused on historical, Cossack songs, and dumas that have significant educational significance. The main directions of work on the use of Ukrainian folk song creativity are outlined. The results of the study indicate that folk songs, due to their deep content and emotional power, are an effective tool in forming patriotic values in the younger generation of teachers.References
