Topicality. The growing number of war veterans requiring physical and sports rehabilitation highlights the need for a scientifically grounded system for comprehensive monitoring of their functional status. Combat experience, injuries, concussions, traumatic brain injuries, prolonged exposure to stressors, and post-traumatic symptoms may cause not isolated impairments of individual functions, but complex changes in the nervous, muscular, psychophysiological, and mental components of functioning. Existing approaches to the assessment of veterans’ status are mostly focused on separate physiological, functional, or psychometric indicators, which limits the identification of leading functional restrictions, adaptive reserves, and recovery mechanisms during rehabilitation. The purpose of the study. The aim of the study was to substantiate the methodological foundations of comprehensive monitoring of the functional, mental, and psychophysiological status of war veterans in order to evaluate the effectiveness of physical and sports rehabilitation and support the individualization of rehabilitation programs. Material and methods of the research. The study had a theoretical and methodological design. Systems and comparative analysis, generalization and synthesis of scientific literature, conceptual modelling, and expert assessment were used. The methodological basis of the study included the provisions of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health, recommendations of the World Health Organization, COSMIN standards for the selection of health measurement instruments, and principles of evidence-based rehabilitation. Results of the research. A three-level methodological framework for comprehensive monitoring was developed, including methodological, methodical, and analytical levels. Four interrelated assessment domains were identified: the nervous system, the muscular system, psychophysiological status, and mental health. The need to combine instrumental, functional, psychophysiological, and psychometric methods was substantiated. An algorithm for forming a veteran’s functional profile was proposed. It includes data quality control, standardization of indicators, component analysis, integration of results, dynamic comparison, and identification of rehabilitation priorities. Based on the ratio of leading functional restrictions, a typology of functional profiles was proposed: neuroregulatory, neuromuscular, psycho-emotional, and complex. Conclusions. The proposed system makes it possible to integrate heterogeneous indicators of war veterans’ status into a unified analytical model, identify leading restrictions, adaptive reserves, and an individual recovery trajectory. The veteran’s functional profile is considered a tool for personalizing physical and sports rehabilitation and supporting decision-making by a multidisciplinary team. Further research should focus on empirical testing of the model, statistical validation of the typology of functional profiles, and the development of digital monitoring algorithms.
