The article reveals the importance of the family in the development of a child's giftedness. The essence of the concepts: «giftedness», «gifted child» is determined from the position of research by both domestic and foreign scientists. The purpose of the article is to determine the role of the family in the development of a child's giftedness and analyze ways to identify and support this quality in him. An analysis of Carol Tekeks's research on the problem of identifying and developing a gifted child is carried out. The difficulties that arise in parents of gifted children and the qualities by which giftedness is identified are highlighted: advanced cognitive development, mental and physical development. It is found that solving the problems of forming a gifted child is possible if optimal conditions are provided for revealing his potential, helping in self-realization, creating an atmosphere of comfortable emotional well-being in the family. Researchers convincingly prove the decisive role of the family in identifying, supporting and developing this ability in children. The key aspects of psychological and pedagogical support (informational and educational, consultative, emotional, pedagogical) of parents of gifted children are revealed. It was found that effective psychological and pedagogical support of parents of gifted children contributes not only to the successful development of the child's talents, but also to his emotional well-being and harmonious development as a personality. The study provides a number of tips for parents on how to deal with a gifted child. The relationship between the upbringing style and the perception of the gifted child's relationship with parents is highlighted: the more harmonious the upbringing style, the more likely it is that a gifted preschooler will feel confident and comfortable in relationships with his parents. The study confirms the need for psychological and pedagogical support for parents raising gifted children. Harmonization of relationships in the family is one of the important conditions not only for the development of children's abilities and talents, but also for a child to happily experience a wonderful and important period – preschool childhood.References
