Abstract

The main disadvantage of most graduates of higher education institutions in Ukraine is the insufficient level of practical skills in their speciality, i.e. a significant gap between theory and practice in the training of future specialists in the higher education system. The relevance of this form of education lies in the fact that the student receives in-depth knowledge and skills in the chosen speciality, i.e. half of his/her study time is devoted to internships at an enterprise that may later become a place of permanent employment, which will allow not only to successfully master the curriculum, but also to gain good practical skills, establish contacts in the team, etc. Training specialists who meet the modern needs of industry is the basis of dual education.Given the development of economic processes in Ukraine, the need for post-war recovery of the national economy, there is an urgent need to modernise the system of higher vocational education in order to provide various sectors ofthe state economy with relevant specialists who meet modern market requirements. The state, togetherwith the professional and pedagogical community and business representatives, are looking for ways out of the crisis. One of such directions is the introduction of a dual education system.The article describes the prospects of dual education in higher education institutions of Ukraine and identifies the effective conditions for its implementation. The functions and tasks of the departments engaged in training specialists in the dual form are defined. The author emphasises the importance of close cooperation between the educational institution and the social partner
