The article analyzes the concept of «information technology», there are two main aspects of their treatment;
substantiated that the review of information technology only in terms of introduction of computer and other information
tools in the educational process considerably narrows the scope of understanding of the essence of informatization of
education. It was determined that an important aspect of effective use of web technologies in the educational process is to
develop a methodological environment, including instructions to carry out practical tasks, guidelines, training manuals and
the like. It identifies a number of web technologies used in education and the development trend of informatization of higher
pedagogical education of Ukraine.
