APPROACHES AND TRENDS OF THE PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF FUTURE PHILOLOGISTS-TRANSLATORS IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM

Abstract

The article summarizes the experience of professional training of future philologists-translators in institutions of higher education. The issue of regulatory and legal regulation of professional training and activities of philologists-translators in Ukraine is highlighted. It is substantiated that the increase in demand for translation services and changes in requirements for translators led to the need for changes in the system and process of professional training of future philologists-translators in institutions of higher education. The main shortcomings of the traditional system of training future philologists-translators in the system of higher education are presented. It is noted that despite all the shortcomings, the traditional education system has accumulated significant positive potential and provides a high level of fundamental training. Attention is focused on the fact that the success of the professional implementation of a philologist-translator depends on the level of his professional competence, and its components are given. The main components of the professional training of future philologists-translators in the higher education system of Ukraine are characterized. It was determined that a successful combination of theoretical and practical training and the acquisition of skills in the application of modern information and computer translation technologies form competences in future philologists-translators that will allow professional translation at any level. The main approaches of the modern model of professional training of future philologists-translators in the higher education system of Ukraine are considered. The main tasks to be solved by the modernization of the professional training of future philologists-translators in the system of higher education of Ukraine are outlined. Current trends in the organization and implementation of professional training of future philologists-translators are highlighted, the training within which is aimed at practical training due to close cooperation of higher education institutions with stakeholders. It was noted that the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation caused a number of new challenges and problems in the professional training of future philologists-translators in the higher education system of Ukraine, and the search for ways to overcome them requires further scientific research.
