DEVELOPMENT OF EDUCATION PERIOD OF LIFE IN HIGHER EDUCATION STAFF

Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of a favorable educational environment creation in the
higher educational institution for the training of citizens throughout life. The experience of existing
structures transformation of postgraduate education of universities in the institutions that provide the
education of citizens throughout life is highlighted. The organizational structure of the Institute of life-long
learning at Khmelnytskyi National University has been developed.
The main directions of activity of the Institute of life – long learning throughout life are described:
postgraduate education; preparatory department; adult education. It is proved that the traditional
educational services of the preparatory department of the university are expedient to complete with the
additional ones related to the preparation of applicants for admission to the Master's degree of higher
education, increase of the knowledge level of applicants from basic disciplines (physics, chemistry,
mathematics, foreign languages), which are necessary for successful study at the Bachelor higher education
degree. It is promising to use the testing methods to determine the abilities and inclinations of senior
students to certain types of activities and provide psychologists with an advice on their admission to study in
one of the specialties that are implemented at the university.
It is argued that the restructuring of post-graduate education at the university should take place in
the direction of advanced training and provide additional competencies for specialists from different fields,
as well as teachers of secondary schools of the city and region, university professors and other universities,
colleges, technical schools, schools, including on the basis of distance learning technology. The new kind of
activity for the university should be able to provide educational services to the population and to organize work with people of the third age.
