SCIENTIFIC AND RESEARCH ACTIVITY OF STUDENTS IN THE PROCESS OF FORMING THEIR ECOLOGICAL COMPETENCE

The article describes the peculiarities of the use of research activities in the process of professional
training of environmental students to form an ecological competence in them. Examples of different interpretations of
the concept of "research activity" of students and students that cover the diversity of points of view on the definition of
this concept are given. It is revealed that the main characteristic features of the project are its practical orientation,
autonomy of execution and formation of skills of group activity. It is convincingly proved that in the process of studying
the ecological disciplines the use of research activities of students of ecologists is urgent to substantiate the essence of
not only local environmental problems, but also global problems that affect the ecosystems of the world and the
biosphere.
Examples of application of mathematical modeling and scientific designing of basic processes of plant life in
the course of studying the courses "Botany from the basics of ecology", "Ecology from the basics of biogeochemistry"
and "Fundamentals of Agrochemistry" are given by undergraduate students of the specialty "Geography" and
students-masters with the specialization "Ecology" .
The effectiveness of using the method of projects to acquire students with the skills of carrying out research
activities is proven.
The technological scheme of implementation of the project activity is presented, the role of the teacher in the
organization of research work of students is demonstrated.
