THE ROLE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATIONAL PROCESS OF STUDENTS IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The role of modern information and communication technologies (ICT) in the educational process
of university students has been analyzed in the article. It is noted that technologies open up new perspectives for
learning, since they allow students to access the information, learn, use, distribute, change and share it. It is proven,
that the use of ICT positively affects both as the successful learning and motivation of the university students as the
learning process itself. In particular, ICTs encourage students to study and help them in the professional development.
It is shown that the use of ICT increases the attraction of students to the process of learning, reduces their emotional alienation, extends the duration of training, improves the process of memorization and provides the opportunity to
study alone. It is explained that the use of ICT can cause a general dependence on the Internet, which also affects the
educational environment. There is a threat of negative influence of ICT on the development of critical thinking, selfdevelopment and self-expression. The conclusion is made that, in general, learning with a help of ICT allows students to
expand access to educational materials and solve problems associated with involving students with limited physical
abilities to the educational process.
