USE OF CASE METHODOLOGY IN THE PROCESS FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING

The article deals with the structure, concept, process and functions of the case study methodology and
discusses the method of creating the case study and its use in oral and written language in the process of learning foreign
languages.
It is proved that the case-method is a specific practical method of organizing the educational process, a method
of discussion in terms of stimulation and motivation of the process, as well as a method of laboratory-practical control and
self-control. Case can be viewed in a methodological context as a complex system that includes simpler methods. Case is
an example of a process-oriented model of learning, focused on the way of acquiring knowledge, on the development of
educational skills, in particular: vision problem, formulation of problem, formulation of hypotheses, planning and
development of research actions, data collection, analysis, formulation of conclusions, their application.
It is emphasized that this method is extremely relevant in the teaching of oral and written language at the initial
stage of learning a foreign language in universities, creates an "internal motivation" to discuss the material; allows you to
use different modes of operation; Orient the entire learning process to the development of the student's personality;
activates thought processes; optimizes the formation and development of speaking skills; optimizes the development and
formation of the student's foreign language communicative competence as a whole.
