FORMING OF ANOTHER SPECIALTY PROFESSIONAL PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCES IN THE PROCESS OF THE STUDY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The definition of the term “foreign competence” is revealed in the article. The influence of
communicative approach on effective organization of studying foreign languages of future experts of economics and
engineering had been described. The article substantiates the necessity of forming foreign language competence of
specialists of economic and technical specialties in the process of studying a foreign language for specific purposes. The
activity of enterprises of the Podillia region had been analyzed, that, in turn, helped to conclude on the relevance of the
training of specialists of non-language specialties for foreign language communication.
It is proved that the effective formation of foreign language competence is influenced by the effectiveness of
organizing classes from a foreign language for specific purposes, methodical quality of materials, the use of innovative
teaching methods and the positive motivation of students to learn foreign languages. The expediency and necessity of
using business games and web quests for the development of personal qualities of students had been described, and
the usage of a distance course on discipline “Foreign language for specific purposes” is grounded for independent work
for students of higher educational establishments.
The thesis identifies the conditions of foreign competences formation of the future experts of economics and
engineering in the process of studying foreign languages: the process of formation of positive motivation to studying
foreign language for specific purposes due to professional direction of their content; the fulfillment of classroom
activities with problematic and creative educational tasks by using web-quests; the development of students’
professional and personal traits in the process of business games; the usage of distance education means for students’
individual work.
