ORGANIZATION OF A PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIMENT ON THE FORMATION OF INFORMATION AND ANALYTIC COMPETENCES OF FUTURE TOURISM ORGANIZATION AGENTS IN VOCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL EDUCATIONAL SCHOOLS INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article raises the problem of professional training of specialists in the tourism industry and
future travel agents in particular. It is noted that the tourism industry takes the leading place both in the world
economy and in the economy of Ukraine. The author focuses on the issues of formation of informational and analytical
competence of future travel agents in vocational schools. She gives the definition to informational and analytical
competence of future travel agents, as a component of their professional competence, that dynamically integrates the
knowledge, ways of thinking, values, skills and abilities, personal qualities that determine the person’s ability to search
and process the information successfully, to work with information resources and software in order to form a bank of
tourism services and serve customers. It is indicated that the criteria for the formation of informational and analytical
competence of future travel agents are cognitive, operative activity based, and personal value based components. The
results and analysis of the educational experiment on the formation of informational and analytical competence of
future travel agents in Vocational Training Institutions are described. It is noted that the experiment was carried out
according to establishing and forming stages. The results of the experiment showed that in experimental groups the
number of pupils with sufficient and high level of formation of informational and analytical competence has
significantly increased and the share of students with low and medium level respectively decreased.
