The article explores the possibilities of using an interactive whiteboard, which is the main means of
multimedia technologies for activating students' intellectual activity in history classes at higher educational
institutions. Application of the software of the interactive whiteboard with the educational purpose increases the
problem-search character of the classes, enhances students’ motivation to study.
