Abstract

The paper presents the results of a scientific-pedagogical study, the purpose of which was to reveal the main features of the distance secondary school for adults and its role in the professional training of vulnerable adult population, analyzing the Model of Education for Life and Work (MEVIT) of the United Mexican States and its tools. The authors found that distance secondary school for adults is one of the special social-educational projects for vulnerable sections of the adult population of Mexico and, along with other educational proposals for poor workers and peasants, the disabled, Indians, temporary workers, unemployed youth (namely, “Cultural Missions”; the “Temporary Migrant Agricultural Worker Training Program”, etc.) plays an important role in the professional training of marginalized adults in the United Mexican States. It is an integral part of the Mexican education system. The authors also found out that studying in a distance secondary school for adults is absolutely free, affordable and flexible; it is based on the Model of Education for Life and Work (MEVIT). The fact that special printed and digital material is developed for its users, taking into account their needs, is also noteworthy. It is important to pay attention to the fact that one of the forms of guiding the educational process is both offline and online tutoring, which is accordingly planned, registered, evaluated and has further control by mentors or online moderators with specific psychopedagogical and psychosocial skills to serve this category of adult people. It has been established that the subjects required for accreditation for the purpose of obtaining a certificate of incomplete secondary education are divided into four groups: language and communication, mathematics and problem solving, health care and the environment, family, public life and society; English language course is optional. Almost all educational activities are conducted remotely, however, individual and group classroom classes with a teacher are also provided.
