PSYCHOLOGICAL FEATURES OF DISTANCE LEARNING IN HIGHER EDUCATION ESTABLISHMENTS: PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

Abstract

The article considers psychological and pedagogical aspects of distance learning in higher
education institutions. In particular, the formation of students’ psychological readiness for distance
learning, psychological analysis of educational technology of distance learning and the specifics of its
psychological mechanisms. The use of computer-based learning systems within distance learning creates
favorable conditions for taking into account psychological mechanism proposed by us in the matter of
arranging learning process. This is reflected in the fact that under these conditions it is possible to transfer
all the functions to students in management of education activities, including the choice of assignments
according to the levels of complexity, as well as the choice of sequence of the material under study
material. And due to the individual psychological characteristics of students it is possible to determine
precisely what management functions should be transferred to students at a certain stage of learning
process, because taking into account the specifics of psychological mechanisms of distance learning is an
important prerequisite for its effectiveness. The article presents the pedagogical experience of distance
learning in Vinnytsia Humanities and Pedagogical College on the basis of the multifunctional platform
LMS Collaborator, identifies digital tools for distance learning, outlines the points provided by our system:

user management, roles and access rights, import and integration with human resources systems, access
control and actions; organization of training and control of student performance, access and actions, full
automation of the education process; convenience of assessing students’ academic achievements, keeping
electronic journals and students’ achievements and activities in the system; the ability of the administrator
to cooperate with system developers, to report inaccuracies in the work, to consult about the correct
configuration of certain modules; mobility and comfort. The article also outlines the prospects for
improving the system of distance learning in our college.
