GENDER FEATURES OF STUDENTS 'VALUE ORIENTATIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

The article analyzes the value orientations of young men and women in student age. It is
determined that the value orientations of modern youth determine their life goals, set a certain vector of
actions and deeds of modern young people. It was found that the development of value orientations of
student youth depends on their professional activities, social development, the formation of strategies to
achieve goals, compliance with social norms. The aim of the article was to determine the peculiarities of
the development of students' value orientations depending on their gender.
The identified empirical studies of value orientations are based on rapid diagnosis of social values of the
individual, which helps to identify personal, professional and socio-psychological orientations and
preferences of student youth. The survey was conducted at the Pedagogical University for 4th year
students. The results of the study indicate the peculiarities of the development of value orientations of
student youth depending on gender The authors found that intellectual values occupy the first place in the
hierarchy of values of student youth. The authors substantiate gender differences in the development of
value orientations of student youth: young people have the most developed family, social value
orientations.
The obtained results indicate the presence of gender differences in the formation of value orientations of
student youth, which in some way will affect their further development. Recommendations on the
peculiarities of the organization of the educational process in higher education institutions are given.
These data should be taken into account in the organization of the educational process, taking into
account the identified gender characteristics.
